Here, Moore recreates the Second World War through the experiences of Hugo S. Sims, a member of the 501st Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, and his remarkable contributions to the war effort.

"Into Hell" is a true account of one man who fought in D-Day in Normandy, Operation Market Garden in Holland and the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne. He received international acclaim for his actions in leading "The Incredible Patrol" and multiple medals for valor in the process including the Distinguished Service Cross, silver star, bronze star and medals from France and Holland. Monuments were erected in his honor in Belgium and Holland. Moore's work, however, goes beyond the glitz and glory to reveal a portrait of a man who had incredible fortitude, morality and commitment.

Herb Moore served in the US Marine Corps from 1961 to 1968. His military service provided a background for him to write his first book, "Rows of Corn." He attended the University of South Carolina and Charleston Southern University. He and his wife, Kathy, were high school sweethearts and they have two sons.
