The times they are a-changin', sang Bob Dylan. Segregation is ending in the South and a new day of racial equality is dawning in this stunning novel about a courageous young Southern woman named Sassy Sonja.

Events in the turbulent 1960s shaped a new generation of leadership in Atlanta, the dynamic capital of the new South. After the death of her abusive ex-husband in a car accident, Sonja Kent moves to Atlanta to start a new life. She is swept off her feet when Marion Avon walks into her life. The young man from a wealthy and influential Atlanta family ardently pursues Sonja and asks her to marry him. Given her humble roots, it takes her time to adjust to her new role as a socialite. Meanwhile, Sonja's husband gets involved with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to fight peacefully for social change.

Sonja supports the end of segregation, but fears the violence that could erupt. The world she knew where whites and blacks used separate restrooms and water fountains, children went to racially segregated schools, and blacks were denied service in hotels and restaurants are becoming a thing of the past. Whatever trials Sonja faces, she proceeds with faith. But when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Senator Robert Kennedy are assassinated, events seem to be spiraling out of control in the nation and in Sonja's family.

About the Author: Sarah Sewell Wolters wrote her first book Sassy Sonja: Virgin Bride in 2014. Born in Atlanta in 1939, she has seen the changes that have reshaped the South and wanted to record them for her grandchildren. "My book reflects my hometown pride. Today, in a new millennium, our newspaper headlines reflect racial conflicts which still persist despite 50 years of change."

"The background of this fascinating read tells an important story of events that shaped the civil rights era of American history. We are thrilled to announce its release," said Robert Fletcher, CEO of Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency.
