November so far has seen the publication of a series of terrific new titles from Four Courts Press.
This week alone we have we have published Jonathan Bell and Mervyn Watson's brilliant portrayal
of the history and heritage of Irish rural society and its basic social unit - the family farm - as well as
Ciaran Reilly's new book on the Great Irish Famine, described by Mary McAleese as "The most
in-depth study of the effects of the Famine on a landed estate and its community".We have also had several wonderful launches over the past few weeks including
Periodicals and Journalism in Twentieth-Century Ireland, Woodstown: A Viking-Age
Settlement in Co. Waterford, and, very appropriately, The First World War Diaries of
