Fantasy Novel Takes Readers to the World Witches and Wizards Inspired by the literary success of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, author Matthew MacDonnell wrote his debut fiction, in which a college-aged witch battles the forces of Satan, titled “The Satanic Platforms: & the Whore of Babylon” (published by AuthorHouse UK).

Elizabeth Brooks is a witch in training at the University of Anglesey – the best university for witches and wizards. As she moves through her studies, she finds herself fighting off the powers of the devil – powers that threaten the very existence of all witches and wizards in the realm.

“The Satanic Platforms” brings into play political, social and emotional themes, interwoven with the fictional story, to show readers the importance of power and trust.

“As the society that we now live in there are a lot of problems with borders, faiths and people you can trust to run a country,” MacDonnell says. “These books will cover ways to gain a more trusting way to run a country without conflict.”
