Fantasy Novel Addresses Modern Issues As a Group of Teens Fight Evil... In Marvin Proctor Jr.’s debut novel, “Eve of Dark Horizons: Part One of the Draconian Series” (published by Archway Press), a group of special teens realize they were predestined to be the front lines of an age of conflict between darkness and the light, and the world and its reality are not the only constant. Proctor is embarking on a marketing campaign to expand the book’s reach.

In a suburb in Maryland, 17-year-old Kyra Mathews believes she is a normal, if gifted, high school student, but she soon finds herself drawn into a reality she could never have imagined. The world is in tremendous danger, threatened by Mr. Black and his partner Dr. Kline who yearn to open the world’s gateway to allow a dominion of evil in, intent on destroying all life and rebuilding it in a dark image.

With the help of a small group of friends, Kyra must take her place in the fight against evil and help to fulfill an ancient prophecy. With issues of politics, gender and sexuality, religion, social status, economic differences and domestic, Proctor believes readers will connect with the book.
