A young woman tried to come to terms with her haunted past, fighting the demons that seem to follow her even in her new found life. She is supposed to be happy. She has a hardworking husband and two wonderful children. There is something missing in her life. She won't be whole until she finds that missing piece, but is it worth it to throw everything she holds dear for a chance of finding real happiness? Author Edna Mae Holm weaves an endearing tale of love and romance that will surely captivate the readers with her new publication, A Candle for Kiri.

In the early 1900's, young Kiri Falgren escapes poverty, famine, and a terrifying dark secret in her homeland, Sweden. She and her husband, Einar, went on a voyage to America and conquered life in a small town in Wisconsin. They have to start from scratch, living in the same house as Kiri's sister until they finally get settled and afford their own place. Their life might not be that eventful, but they are starting a family. Kiri gave birth to a son she named Johnny, and then eventually, to a little girl she named Charlotte. Einar is earning enough to be able to afford them a house of their own.

Everything is supposed to be fine, but there is still sadness in her eyes. There are demons on her unspoken past, and she needs to fight it. Then another problem comes in the form of the gentle and attractive pastor, Peder. Suddenly, there is excitement in her life. She finds solace in a forbidden love that threatens to destroy her very existence. Is the glow from a single candle enough to light her way?

A compelling story of a forbidden affair, A Candle for Kiri will definitely touch the readers' hearts and make them realize how strong a love that's pure and true.
