Orson Scott Card, the novelist of Ender's Game, "ignited a firestorm over his comments about gay marriage," and has now written an essay "comparing Obama to Hitler." In this essay, Card suggests "Obama could be planning a coup to take over the United States." Written on his blog, Card lays out a conspiracy heavy rant that includes his belief that "Michelle Obama will be anointed to succeed" to her husband until the "Constitution will have been amended to allow Presidents to run for reelection forever.

Card's essay, which comes in at around 3000 words, repeatedly attacks Obama and characterizes him as an evil dictator who "despises ordinary people." This essay comes right after Card's anti-gay marriage remarks sparked a boycott of the Ender's Game movie. Lionsgate has "distanced itself" from Card and is hosting an Ender's Game benefit for the LGBT community.

Ender's Game, set for release on November 1st, is an adaption of Card's 1985 novel that takes place in a "near future in which an alien race has attacked Earth." Lionsgate has asked that audiences "not conflate the politics of Card" with the movie itself.
