About the Author
Denise Brown-Hinton was born in Louisville, Georgia. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. at the age of 12 and grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant. She has been writing poetry since she was a teenager. She received her degree from the City College of New York. Brown-Hinton is now retired after 40 years of federal government service, and is a wife, mother and grandmother. She often encourages others to enjoy writing their own poems and stories. "Poetic Lessons" is her third book of poetry. She writes about life experiences, family, childhood memories, secrets and history in the making.
