Geoff Williams was born in North London. The son of a fireman, he spent his childhood making up stories to the delight of his siblings and friends. He resettled in Australia with his wife and two daughters, welcoming a son to their family soon after. They lived in a small town on the edge of Lake Macquarie and ran a successful building business before moving to Sydney.
