In David S. Leonard's new book "Lincoln's Letter" (published by iUniverse), the adventures of a young high school student seeking to pay for his college costs become dangerous when he falls into a web of mystery and deceit.

David Thornton, a high school senior who is about to graduate high school, is a Civil War enthusiast. Knowing this, his great-aunt Gin presents him with a graduation gift, a family heirloom - a letter from Abraham Lincoln. She asks David to look in her attic for a box of other Civil War era letters. What he finds is amazing - an antique helmet.

His aunt Gin gives him the old helmet. The Abraham Lincoln letter, though, has been stolen shortly after being taken from the safety deposit box. David's plans for solving a Civil War mystery are thwarted by a shadowy figure who has other plans.

With a criminal on their tails, David and his friends are on the run. Their quest: to find the truth about this letter from Lincoln, along with the mysterious helmet. Unexpectedly, they find themselves in the midst of a modern day treasure hunt that puts all of their lives in danger.
