As a professional cameraman and videographer, Dan Semenoff has never had an issue expressing different feelings visually. However, when it came to describing his personal sentiments, he chose to substitute a pen for a camera.

How writing can be an outlet to convey emotions is exactly what Semenoff aims to highlight in his book, "Words to Live." Semenoff, used poetry to help him communicate various thoughts about his life when he worked in the broadcast industry.

"While I have always considered myself a visual person, writing helped me step out of my comfort zone," Semenoff said. "I believe that creativity comes in many forms and writing is just one channel that individuals can turn to when they need to express themselves."

By sharing his poems, he hopes that others can relate to his writing and find a verse that resonates with them.

"From my personal experience, I know that poetry allowed me to describe my feelings in a different way," Semenoff said. "I believe that writing can connect with individuals who are seeking inspiration or help in their daily lives."
