In "Beyond Compulsion" (published by AuthorHouse), author D. Valencia's new suspense novel, readers are taken into the dark, seedy world of a flawed young man and shown the black side of humanity.

Orphaned as a baby, Georges was adopted by a wealthy, French back street brothel owner. As an adult, he has mastered the art of deception -a charming, good looking man on the outside, but a truly malevolent being with neither morals nor conscience inside. Having no money and an addiction to gambling he sets out to find a mark.

He finds his bank in Serena Cheetham, a naive, slightly overweight but attractive girl, who inhabits the world of the ultra rich. Together, the two escape from Serena's family and head to the United States. Once there, she begins to realize that Georges is only after her money and not her love.

With this realization, Serena must now escape Georges before it is too late to come back into the light, but will she be able to when he will murder, blackmail and steal to have his way?

An excerpt from "Beyond Compulsion":

"'Do you want to eat, boy?' His uncle grabbed the scruff of his collar and dragged him off the bed and onto the concrete floor. When the boy didn't move, the man prodded him with a sandaled foot. The boy crawled out into the narrow corridor on hands and knees. 'Oh, Mamma, help me,' the lad intoned pitifully. 'Shut your trap! The whore is dead!' He spat on the ground at the thought of his dead sister. 'She got what she deserved for the eternal shame she brought on this family fornicating with that foreign pig you call 'father.' This was true and faced by his disgusted neighbours, her brother had been the one to cast the first stone."
