Cindy Hipszer Shares a Story of Hope and Faith in 'That Was God' Cindy Hipszer wanted to reach out to other parents and families who have experienced distress or have lost a loved one in an unforeseen tragedy. Likewise, she also wanted to illustrate the powers of God. These objectives prompted Hipszer to write “That Was God: A Mom’s Story about Hope in Traumatic Brain Injury” (published by LifeRich Publishing) so others would know there is hope in brain injury and in traumatic times. The book shares the true story of Hipszer’s daughter who was given another chance at life after a near fatal crash that caused her to suffer a traumatic brain injury. Hipszer also shares how her family pulled together after such a crisis — and how their love of God made an unthinkable situation easier.

“Everyone needs hope, everyone needs God and this story gives it all. Whether you are in the midst of trauma, experienced it earlier, or are caring for those who are, this story will prove that you are not alone,” Hipszer says. “Also, there are many who experience traumatic brain injury and need to recognize that God controls the outcome; and it may not be what the professionals are expressing. So do not give up hope.”

“That Was God: A Mom’s Story about Hope in Traumatic Brain Injury” aims to make readers realize that God is real and still performs miracles. “Prayers, hope and determination are important and make a difference. To be surrounded by brothers and sisters of Christ is necessary for survival among worldly matters. The diagnosis of traumatic brain injury is a life sentence, but it is not your life,” Hipszer adds.
