'Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman' (BenBella Books, ISBN: 978-1-936661-64-0) has been named 2013 Best Biography by the Texas Association of Authors.

This is the third major accolade for the acclaimed biography of the Oscar-winning actor. Penned by Bale's former publicist of 10 years, Austin-based Harrison Cheung, and entertainment journalist, Nicola Pittam, Bale's biography was also named Winner, Best Biography by the National Indie Excellence Awards.

With the recent announcement at Comic-Con that the role of Batman is up for grabs for the 2015 BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN sequel, the Bale biography becomes a must-read describing the intense lobbying campaign Bale did to win the lead in 2005's BATMAN BEGINS. The book debuted last summer at Comic-Con San Diego and has been featured nationally on Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition and Chelsea Lately.

The Christian Bale biography follows Bale's life as a former child actor growing up in poverty in England, to a former Disney and Spielberg teen idol, to his Internet sensation and fandom that led to the role of Batman, the Dark Knight himself. Publishers' Weekly described the book as "an interesting perspective on the making of a star." Huffington Post praised the book as "a new picture of Christian Bale." The book earned "must read" recommendations from a number of publications including: Los Angeles Magazine, Austin Monthly.

Author Harrison Cheung worked for Christian Bale as publicist, marketer and personal assistant for almost a decade. As a family friend and confidant, Harrison was involved with practically every aspect of Christian's life, including his publicity, finances, immigration, fan mail, and, of course, web marketing. Using web marketing, Harrison created the Balehead fan community and made Christian Bale the biggest star on the Internet. Entertainment Weekly touted Bale as one of the 'Top Cult Figures of the Past Decade' because of his Internet presence. Bale's Internet following was instrumental in landing the coveted role of Batman.

Based in Austin, Texas, the Texas Association of Authors strives to provide a great service to all of its clients, publishing houses, and readers. It is the only organization in Texas whose focus is to promote the authors within the great state of Texas itself.
