SEQUIM, Wash. - Author, mentor and educator Catherine Mich announces the release of her third book, "Papa and Me! The Perils of Patriarchy: Stories Told by American Women from Their Journeys to New Feminine Consciousness and Empowerment" (published by Balboa Press).

"Papa and Me! The Perils of Patriarchy" focuses on the real-life stories of five American women who candidly share their transformative experiences of moving through the culture of patriarchy.

"The brave women who share their stories here," shares Mich, "may inspire and motivate you to reflect on your own life, plumbing your depths for aspirations denied, plans deferred, and intuitions ignored, in the context of patriarchal relationships."

An excerpt from the book:

"Let's be clear. This book is not about creating a new rallying cry against the male of the species. Instead, it is about rallying women to identify how patriarchy has played a disempowering role in our lives and to rouse us to dig down within to discover our own unique passions, purpose, and individual empowerment. This book is meant to be a contribution to writings that highlight the need for women to become co-creators of the future, the evolutionary future. BarbAra Marx Hubbard, in her recently revised edition of 'Emergence: The Shift from Ego to Essence,' presents a powerful process for new feminine and masculine energies to emerge and come together to create the future of both the human race and the planet."

With the publication of "Papa and Me! The Perils of Patriarchy," Mich seeks to inspire readers to take a fresh look at the constructs of their lives. "This is not an academic exploration of patriarchy, this is the 'real deal' as lived out by modern American women, who are willing to tell their stories and share the hills and valleys of their experience. It is our fondest hope that these stories help others to tap into the meaning and purpose of their uniquely authentic lives."
