Camila Fernandez Gomez Debuts with 'Emotionless' Camila Fernandez Gomez carves her niche in the literary world with a story that touches on modern-day issues such as the relationship between the government and rebels and the many facets and effects of mental health issues. "Emotionless" (published by AuthorHouse UK) is a debut novel by a millennial to her peers and the succeeding generation.

This story follows a teenage girl named Aliana Lynn Keenan who has mental health issues. As she takes one rushed decision for the first time in her life that leads her to a whole new world where she discovers that everything is not what she believed it to be and that even those around her and those she believed to know, aren't who she thought they were. She struggles with a drug addiction, self-hate, anger and family issues, among many other things.

Through the experiences of Aliana, readers are introduced to "a bunch of teenage kids and adults trying to come to terms with their mental issues and discovering themselves, whilst there's a war at the verge of happening, people have to decide between what matters the most to them."

This story touches a bit of mental health issues and it shows a different side of it. It expounds on the way people think of things that are unknown to them, how hate and rejection is the first reaction they have to what is new, how some people in the government see 'rebels' as a threat, as less and not equally because 'people in the government are better'. Essentially, the book relates issues happening in today's society.

An excerpt from the book:
"And now that I'm here and I have no future, I can do whatever the hell I want, but I have no idea what I want. I don't know what to do with all this free time. I don't know how to make choices on my own. I'm here while all my life is over there, across that bridge."
