Book Moves Readers From 'Burnout to Engagement' After researching about reasons why people experience burnout, Assaad Mounzer, MD, MA, ACC, FACS, a board certified urologist, found out that burnout has been more prevalent in many professions, and at higher incidence than expected. Having faced burnout multiple times and overcoming them, Mounzer wrote "Burnout to Engagement: Mindfulness in Action" (published by Balboa Press) to share his experience and help others find an effective way to regain their personal inner power, and follow their purpose.

In the book, Mounzer describes his own struggles and his journey from suffering to acceptance and peace. As a student of mindfulness and a teacher, he shares what he has learned so others can overcome depression, increase daily enthusiasm, face feelings of fear and self-doubt and build resilience to get through difficult times.

"This book explains in a simple way how stress can affect the neurotransmitters (hormones) in our body, and create chronic diseases," Mounzer points out. "It gives simple tools to use on a daily basis to build discipline, promote relaxation, awareness, and enhance resilience, to live a life in alignment with their values and purpose."

Filled with inspirational quotes, reflections and exercises, the book is hoped to give readers understanding about the effects of chronic stress on them, and to offer them simple tools they can use every day, to care for themselves, build a mindfulness practice, and establish achievable and realistic goals to live a more meaningful and happier life.
