Book Culminates Struggle to Articulate Coherent World View

Book Culminates Struggle to Articulate Coherent World View Image While reading lots of educational philosophers and theorist, Glenda Jackson really struggled to find a coherent and meaningful framework from which to explore the world. "Origin of the Centred Self?" (published by Xlibris AU) is the product of the author's journey to articulate a connected world view and the resulting unexpected discovery of the centred self.

Published in 2013, "Origin of the Centred Self?" attempts to connect what philosophers and theorists know and understand about human nature, especially the existence of two selves - a selfless one based in reality and a self-centred one functioning as a virtual reality. It includes an explanation of how these two selves operate with real time results in our lived experiences.

According to Jackson, the book is highly relevant to today's society as it provides a reasonable explanation of why things function the way they do and what we can do about those things in society so often neglected and ignored.

"The book is an exploration of philosophy, identity theory juxtaposed with Christian theology to explore the concept of two selves, who these selves are and how they function," the author says.

About the Author
Glenda Jackson's interest in exploring the concept of the centred self began while working on a doctoral thesis in education. Early in her study program she was challenged to articulate her world view - one she recognised needed to span the philosophies and theories encountered in her discipline and research while also connecting with her Christian heritage.
