Author Unfolds More Than 200 Years of Modern Greek History in New Book

An Australia-based writer has released his debut book, which follows the story of the Kapelis clan - an ordinary family of Greek hatmakers - and their extraordinary perspective on European history spanning from the late 1700s to the year 2000.

In "Kapelis 'The Hatmaker,'" author Andreas Kappa adapts the almost 100-year life of descendent Andreas Kapelis, who weathered some of European history's most devastating and transformative events. Covering the entirety of the 20th century, Kappa's book invites readers on an unflinching journey of perseverance through national tragedy, political corruption and social injustice in a tale that lovingly marries goodness with humanity and extrapolates on the evils of the time.
