HUNTINGTON, N.Y.

Author Angela Fede blends fact and fiction in her new novel, "The Wine Cellar" (published by AuthorHouse), based partially on events from her personal experiences.

Set mostly in New York City, "The Wine Cellar" follows the life and times of Francine Gilliamo, the daughter of two proud Italian immigrants. Their devout Catholic morals and sometimes embarrassing Italian traditions shape Francine as she grows into a young woman, torn between her rigid upbringing and her desire to live a more liberal lifestyle.

As Francine marries and has children of her own, she struggles to find a parenting style that challenges her children to live a life uninhibited by fear. Simultaneously, she also wrestles with her own fear of growing old. When her parents die, Francine finally sees the value in her upbringing and learns to embrace her heritage.

Peppered with real-life occurrences, "The Wine Cellar" is a coming-of-age story that infuses Fede's life experiences with an engaging narrative. She is planning on writing a sequel and encourages readers to check back for more in the near future.

She states, "There'll be times that you'll shed a tear, there are times when you'll be laughing and there are times when you will be completely inspired."
