"On this day, I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live," Moses states in his sermon to the Israelites. This verse is the cornerstone for Amariah Ashon's new book, "Live in Light or Die in Darkness" (published by Trafford Publishing). Ashon sees salvation as the choice between life and death, light and darkness.

Ashon recognizes that most Christians understand the plan of salvation, but may struggle with what steps to take after being born again. "Live in Light or Die in Darkness" outlines a plan to see Christians through every stage of life. With chapters like "Temporary and Eternal," "Developing a Submissive Spirit" and "Religion and Relationship," the book provides insight into the daily matters of Christianity as well as the lifetime goal of salvation. One such matter Ashon discusses is the basis for a healthy Christian marriage.

An excerpt from "Live in Light or Die in Darkness":

"Our most effective position in our marriage will be to love our spouse through God. To do this, we have to use what I call triangle love. (This concept came to me about four years ago, but it has been effective.) Picture a triangle; it has three points: one on top and two on the sides. Notice that unlike a square, all points are connected to each other. If any point in the triangle is missing, it is no longer a triangle. This concept should be how we love in our marriage. You and your spouse represent the side points, and the top and always included has to be Jesus."

Filled with biblical examples and personal anecdotes, "Live in Light or Die in Darkness" can serve as a guide not only for the nascent Christian, but also for the longtime believer looking for reaffirmation.
