Public hospitals in Malaysia have faced an uphill task in upgrading health care services to levels compatible with international standards. Hong Poh Fan graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manchester, and earned an MBA from Brunel University, both in the United Kingdom. He is a professional engineer and chartered engineer. He is the senior advisor on facility management of an established property developer for integrated properties that includes hospitals.
