Two Lectures Celebrating the Irish in America
This St. Pádraig's Day weekend, the Irish Classical Theatre Company invites you to join us in The Andrews Theatre for our Celtic Connections series with two lectures illuminating different strands of Irish history:
Different Shades of Green: The Irish in America presented by Dr. Matthew O'Brien, Professor of History at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The Buffalo Irish on Screen and Stage presented by Timothy Bohen, Author of Emerald Thread: The Irish in Buffalo, and Against the Grain: The History of Buffalo's First Ward.
Plus a special exhibition of Dublin-based photographer Bobby Zithelo's Irish Contemporaries 3 portrait series, featuring Irish musicians, poets, and artists, capturing themes of immigration, cultural fusion, and modern identity.
Join us on Saturday, March 15th at 7:00 PM for this rich discussion of the footprint of the Irish in the United States (and Buffalo) and a glimpse at contemporary Dublin through photography.
Tickets are $30 and include admission and a drink voucher to the Chris O'Neill Lounge, to redeem during the event.
