Jewish Repertory Theatre Presents MODERN ORTHODOX By Daniel Goldfarb
Jewish Repertory Theatre continues its 17TH season with MODERN ORTHODOX, April 23 - May 17, at the Maxine and Robert Seller Theatre, in the Jewish Community Center, 2640 North Forest Rd., Amherst, NY.
When Ben, an Upper West Side financial consultant, meets Hershel, an Orthodox jewel merchant, to buy an engagement ring, their differing views of their shared religion at first divides them. Three months later, with respective love interests and love stories on paths they could not have predicted, Ben and Hershel meet again as changed men, no longer divided by their faith. They have learned something from each other, and each couple is ready as Jews dealing with modern life, to embark on new marriages.
MODERN ORTHODOX is directed by Steve Vaughan and stars Kristin Bentley, Arin Lee Dandes, Nick Stevens and Adam Yellen.
Brian Cavanagh is Lighting Designer, David Dwyer is Set Designer, Kari Drozd is Costume Designer, Tom Makar is Sound Designer, Keelin Higgins is Stage Manager, Emma English is Assistant Stage Manager and Property Master, Molly Farber and Jennifer Kwoka are House Managers and Linda Hanes is Box Office Manager. Jordana Halpern is Managing Director.
The Jewish Repertory Theatre of Western New York is a program of the JCC of Greater Buffalo founded in 2002 by Dr. Saul Elkin, artistic director, and David Bunis, producer.
