Theater 2020 goes back to the Bard with a South Pacific MACBETH
THEATER 2020, Brooklyn Heights' professional theater company is pleased to announce their upcoming production of Shakespeare's MACBETH, set amidst the witchcraft and sorcery of the South Pacific. Directed and adapted my IT Award nominee David Fuller, and running 10 indoor & 2 outdoor performances in Brooklyn Heights, Thursday, May 25nd through Sunday, June 18th, 2017. Press is invited beginning Friday, May 26th.
"Moana meets Apocalypse Now" in the 1960's, on a tropical island in the South Pacific, where witchcraft abounds, passions play against ambition in a deadly game for tribal control. In our mythical setting, a group of AWOL soldiers have insinuated themselves into the local populace. After a time, the natives seek to wrest back their homeland, with the aid of their spirit world. This fast-paced 90 minute adaptation features a multi-cultural cast, indigenous choreography and exciting stage combat.
