The Invisible Dog Art Center Presents THE ELECTRIC INDIAN This Weekend

By:

The Invisible Dog Art Center will present THE ELECTRIC INDIAN, conceived and directed by JJ Lind, tonight, February 15 at 7:00pm and Sunday, February 16 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. The Invisible Dog Art Center is located at 51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn. Tickets to The Electric Indian are $20 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors.

Based on the well-known lectures of controversial Cherokee figure Elias Cornelius Boudinot --- a Confederate colonel who advocated passionately on Indian affairs but was vilified by his own people for helping open the door to white settlement --- The Electric Indian reimagines the events following Cherokee relocation to Indian Territory as an historically accurate, all-white fantasia of Indianness.

The Electric Indian investigates our Great American Civilization by combining storytelling, ritual, dance, and song with 19th century historical texts, 20th century popular media, and 21st century technologies. In the process and through the wonders of these technologies, Boudinot is transformed into a magical, mythical and rarely-seen being --- a modern day unicorn, The Indian.

The Electric Indian features James Allerdyce, Max Dana, Brady Jenkins, Julie Stainer-Loehr, and Siobhan Towey,
choreography and staging by Jillian Sweeney, sound and video by Rob Ramirez and Blake Carrington, production design by Maki Takenouchi, and music direction by Robin Aigner.
