The Heights Players continues its 59th season with the New York premiere of Ken Ludwig's The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays. This is the second straight New York premiere for the Heights Players, following on the heels of last month's New York premiere of The Great Gatsby, and this one brings mayhem and madcap adventure to the John Bourne Theater as only Ken Ludwig can do!

The Game's Afoot is penned by a man known for his outlandish comedies including gems like Shakespeare in Hollywood, Lend Me a Tenor and Leading Ladies - all previously seen on the Heights Players stage. But with this one, Ken Ludwig brings his stylish humor to a whodunit - so well praised as a mystery that it won the 2012 Edgar Award for Best Mystery.

Taking place in December 1936, The Game's Afoot tells the story of William Gillette, a Broadway star who is admired the world over for his theatrical portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Gillette invites his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a festive holiday weekend. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the atmosphere in his isolated house of tricks quickly turns dangerous. That's when Gillette summons up his best Sherlock Holmes to track down the killer before another guest becomes a victim!
