Guitarist and Composer Marco Cappelli will present a two-night 60th birthday celebration at Brooklyn's creative hub Barbès on August 9th and 10th. The two-night residency will feature three separate performances, with three different lineups, including Italian Surf Academy, an Acoustic Trio, and special guests Lucian Ban and Elliott Sharp. The shows will be recorded for a live album to be released onCappelli's own 41st Parallel Records label.. Full details and schedule below.

MC Acoustic Trio gives a rare performance with this special reunion, after their last tour in South Korea in 2023. Started in 2011, the band found its own original chamber-music-language through New York gigs and international touring, as documented in their 3 albums, published by prestigious labels such as Mode Records, Tzadik and Da Vinci.

Link Wray, Martin Denny, Henry Mancini...and more! The collaboration with poet Denver Butson gave birth to their recent album ENNIO MORRICONE IS DISSOLVING, published by 41st Parallel Records.
ABOUT MARCO CAPPELLI
Guitarist/Composer/Bandleader Marco Cappelli has carved out an extraordinary artistic path that led him from Italy to NYC and back. His music dwells between the worlds of avant classical and improvised music, fluent in both rigorous written music as well the languages of free improvisation. As composer and performer, he has collaborated with such musical heavyweights as Anthony Coleman, Michel Godard, Butch Morris, Marc Ribot, Adam Rudolph, Elliott Sharp, and more. His rich discography as a solo artist and leader of such groups as Italian Doc Remix and Italian Surf Academy has been published by labels such as Mode Records, Tzadik, and Da Vinci, and he founded his own label, 41st Parallel Records in 2022. Born in Naples, Cappelli currently lives between Palermo - where he teaches classical guitar at the Conservatory - and New York, where he continues to record and perform.
