Gerardo Vallejo Brings A GENTLEMAN IN NEW YORK to Feinstein's/54 Below FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, Thursday, January 17th 2019, at 9:30 PM to present a one man concert-written and performed by singer, actor, and activist Gerardo Vallejo-highlighting the danger, absurdity, and fragile nature of toxic masculinity in our society.Interwoven with heartfelt personal life stories, A GENTLEMAN IN NEW YORK features songs from the musical theater cannon, the great American songbook, and top-40 pop classics-both new and old. New York City based composer/pianist Karl Hedrick serves as the Musical Director. Barrie Gelles serves as dramaturg and stage director.

After living and performing in New York City for the last 5 years, performer Gerardo Vallejo- who has appeared at venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center- brings to the city stage A GENTLEMAN IN NEW YORK. Gerardo Vallejo is a Texas native. After growing up in the charming city of San Antonio, he now resides in New York City. A classically trained actor, singer, and director, he most recently performed at the NYC renowned cabaret venue 54 Below in the concert 'If I were a Front Man.' He also recently played the role of Roger in the 25th anniversary production of 'A New Brain' at the Gallery Players-which was recently nominated for best production of a musical through the New York Innovative Theatre Awards.His favorite onstage credit is singing at Carnegie Hall, with The New York Pops Orchestra, Matthew Morrison, and Kelli O'Hara for the winter concert, "Kelli & Michael: Home For The Holidays;" Conducted by Steven Reineke. His New York City works include: The concert performance of Wall to Wall: Stephen Schwartz (Symphony Space); A New Brain (Roger); You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Schroeder); Peter & the Pied Piper (Peter), at The Gallery Players; Grease (Roger); Ennui An English Comedy With A French Title For an American Audience, performed at The Theater for the New City; A staging and concert of a new musical in the Off-Broadway theatre at The Theatre at St. Clements; The comedy Nothing Serious in the heart of Manhattan, at The Producers Club; As well as various cabarets at venues such as The Duplex, and Don't Tell Mamma. He is a member of the New York City Essential Voices USA Choir, who regularly performs with the New York Pops, being presented at Carnegie Hall. He was a featured soloist in the New York Pops Opening 2015 Season concert 'Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein' at Carnegie Hall. He began his love for theatre at an early age, being involved with drama and choir all throughout his education; he was cast in commercials and short films.

His passion for the arts grew, and he became regularly involved with acting/singing programs and classes. He has worked with many theatre companies and involved in all aspects of production, from technical, acting, directing, to producing. His favorite stage credits include: You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Title Role); The Secret Garden (Dickon); Guys & Dolls; In The Heights; A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum; Les Miserables; and A Midsummer Night's Dream. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical through The Alamo Theatre Arts Council Awards in 2013 and 2014. Gerardo is currently in rehearsal for several projects, including New York Concerts, and his one man show A Gentleman In New York- to be staged in December of 2018. He is a proud activist involved with many non-profit organizations in New York City, including: The Anti-Defamation League of New York, The Gay Men's Health Crisis, Impulse NYC, and Arts for All.
