FalconWorks to Present THE SANDY MONOLOGUES

By:

Theater Company will present The Sandy Monologues, an original work using spoken word, song and movement that was inspired by the actual words of Hurricane Sandy survivors. This production, slated for June 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, & 12 of 2016, will tackle issues of race & class by zooming in on the lives of a diverse handful of residents who weathered the freak storm that raged from Hispaniola to the Great Lakes The play owes gratitude to the EMMP Tell Your Story Project interviews and the article "Race, Class and Disaster Gentrification" by Zoltán Glück.

Falconworks Artist Group's mission is to empower individuals and communities through theater in order to effect social change. Falconworks achieves its aims through theater workshops that cultivate participants' ability to tell their and their communities' stories directly to diverse local audiences. Uniting these sometimes disparate groups, Falconworks engenders local residents with a renewed sense of community and educates them about local issues that affect them all.

The play features Thaddaeus Abbott, Luis Arzu, Mathew Bautista, Zakaria Bellahcene, Beatriz Cavalieri, Josephine Cho, Célia Diagana, Margot Fletcher, Jenni Lark, Helen Lingaard, Chevy Martinez, Dontae McCoy Freeman, Mateo Morel, Josephine Pizzino, Ashley St Juliette, Jonathan Vanderzon, Mateo Vidals and Chance Warren Dixon. The play is written and conceived by Reg Flowers in collaboration with Co-Director Meg Bouchard. The production includes Alex Siesse (music direction), Christopher Studley (lights), Anne O'Neil (costumes), Rhianna Lehman (publicity), intern Ashley Lopez and Christopher Hammett (Producer). Design provided by Lisa Diller.

FalconWorks was founded in 1997 and incorporated in 2004, Falconworks is an intrinsically diverse organization. As a community-serving institution, our audience, staff, and board membership reflect our physical and programmatic community. Our natural constituency consists of the theater and arts enthusiasts representing the varied races, genders, and sexual orientations that gravitate to the arts.
