August Wilson's The Piano Lesson is set in 1936 Pittsburgh during the Great Depression and is part of Wilson's acclaimed American Century Cycle. Staged at Shakespeare & Company's Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, the production features a talented cast including Omar Robinson as Boy Willie, Jade Guerra as Berniece, and Jonathan Kitt as Doaker Charles. Directed by Christopher V. Edwards, this Pulitzer Prize-winning play explores themes of heritage and the significance of family legacy within the African-American experience.
