Vagabond Theatre Group presents Supergravity and the Eleventh Dimension, by Boston Playwright Heather Houston. This new play opens July 11, 2013 at the Factory Theatre (791 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02118) and runs until July 20, 2013.

If energy cannot be created or destroyed, what happens to our energy after we die? Where are those that are no longer with us? One year after Carmen (Rachel Katherine Alexander) tumbles from a cliff, her friends, Tom (Kevin Pacquet), Leslie (Alyssa Pernhagen), Dan (Devon Scalisi) and Fred (Noah Tobin), return to her cabin one final time. Seen through the eyes of a theoretical physicist, the story of suspicion, grief, love, and life, bounces back and forth through time slowly revealing the truth about Carmen's tragic last days.

"Supergravity is an extraordinary piece of work," says Director James Peter Sotis. "While the play does use deep science as a filter, at its heart it is a story about a group of friends dealing with loss. The memory of Carmen and her tragic end haunts the group, and the remaining friends need to bend the laws of physics to work through their suspicions, grief, anger, and sadness. When they slowly bring the truth of her death to light, they all have to reconcile what actually happened that last night against their own versions of reality - whether or not it shatters their own private universe."

Tickets are $18 for students/seniors and $22 for general admission, available through BrownPaperTickets.com (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/389648). The play runs about 2 hours.

Heather Houston moved to Boston in 2008 with an MA in English under her belt and no job to show for it. Luckily, after years of traveling the globe as a Military BRAT, she knew how to adapt to her surroundings. And after a long road of temping, finally got hired by Harvard... and then promptly laid off. At which point, Heather decided to direct her energies entirely to playwrighting (for a time... because let's face it, you can't live off playwrighting).

Heather entered Boston University's MFA Playwrighting program in 2010 and graduated in 2011. She has had small plays produced for the Boston One-Minute Play Festival and a ten-minute play, Dream Kitchen, was produced for the Boston Theatre Marathon. She has completed two full-length plays, One Night Dream and her thesis play for Boston University, Supergravity and the Eleventh Dimension, which received a public reading at the Boston Playwright's Theatre in 2011 and is now Vagabond Theatre Group's full production for the Summer of 2013.

She lives in Somerville with one really tiny, neurotic she-cat, and one huge, not-too bright he-cat.

James Peter Sotis is the Founder and Artistic Director of Vagabond Theatre Group. He is a director, designer, and actor originally hailing from Ipswich, Massachusetts. James graduated Boston University in 2008 with a degree in Film and Television, and has directed VTG's productions of A Skull in Connemara, IRNE-nominated Burning the Barn, The Unfortunate Cutthroats, True Believers, and the IRNE-nominated Burning up the Dictionary. While not directing shows for VTG, James can be found roaming the Google offices in Cambridge, reading scripts for Hollywood studios, or writing in the Copley Square Starbucks.

Founded in 2009, Vagabond Theatre Group produces new plays and established works through an open creative process. By inviting the public to experience and contribute to the various stages of development, VTG promotes collaboration between artist and audience.
