The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Celebrate 20 Years Of Their Annual HOMETOWN THROWDOWN The Mighty Mighty BosstToneS, known for their unique brand of ska-core, celebrate their 20th annual HomeTown ThrowDown concert series between Christmas and New Year's - three consecutive nights at Boston's House of Blues.

The concerts take place December 28, 29 and 30th, and feature special guests Piebald, The Doped Up Dollies, Rude Bones,Vic Ruggiero, The Pietasters, and Kicked in the Head. The House of Blues is located at 15 Landsdowne Street, in the Fenway section of Boston. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/01005328A8DD36E0.

"We couldn't be happier," says BossToneS' frontman Dicky Barrett, "to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our HomeTown ThrowDown in the greatest city and our hometown. It's hard to believe we started this holiday transition two decades ago. It's still as much fun - seeing old friends, playing the songs, and being on stage together. This year we're glad to be joined by our long-time pals The Pietasters, Rude Bones, Piebald, Kicked in the Head, The Doped Up Dollies, and Vic Ruggiero."
The HTTD launched in 1997 featuring five nights at The Middle East in Cambridge. The concerts were recorded, and released as Live at The Middle East, in October of 1998 (Mercury Records). Over the years, the ThrowDown has evolved - but it has always been held during the holidays, in Boston. One year the ThrowDown played different clubs each night including the now defunct T.T. The Bear's Place (Cambridge, MA), Bill's Bar (also long gone) and the legendary rock club The Rat. In 2015, The BossToneS went all out donning that year "The Year of the Rat," paying homage to the world-famous club by inviting Boston favorite bands including The Real Kids, The Outlets, The Neighborhoods, The Upper Crust, The Queers, and Stranglehold.
Last year (the 19th ThrowDown), The BossToneS invited "the whole wide world," presenting special guests The Skatalites (Jamaica), The Planet Smashers (Canada), The Porkers (Australia), Peelander-Z (Japan), The Skints (England), and Los Kung-Fu Monkeys (Mexico).

As part of the HomeTown ThrowTown festivities, the band holds a fundraiser in the House of Blues Foundation Room. This year, The BossToneS will donate proceeds of the fundraiser to the newly formed The Shout Syndicate Fund, started earlier this year to raise money for Greater Boston after school arts programs. "It's important to us that we give back to the city," Barret says. "Boston has given us so much over the years - it's only right that we do our part and help the kids when they need it."
