Cotuit Center for the Arts is proud to announce the 1st Annual Cape Cod Rhythm and Roots Festival on July 10, 2010 from 10:00am - 11:00pm at the Cotuit Center for the Arts (4404 Route 28 Cotuit, MA Cape Cod).

Join us for a day of family-friendly music and festivities celebrating the great tradition of roots music with a fantastic line up including Traditional Irish music, Folk, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Blues, Zydeco and R & B.

Featuring music on the main stage, workshops and demonstrations in the art studio and lots of activities for kids and adults alike.

The Main Stage lineup includes:
3 Cats and a Dog, Tripping Lily,Crabgrass, Danielle Miraglia, Randy and the Oak Trees, the Mighty Houserockers, Les Sampou, The Boston Boys, Boogaloo Swamis and Barrence Whitfield

What to expect:
The festival has been developed as a family friendly event with lots of activities for kids including a fully interactive hands-on "musical instrument petting zoo", face painting, games and picnicking areas with plenty of room for playing. In between musical acts on the main stage, a series of workshops will take place in the art studio ranging from demonstrations on making guitars from cigar boxes and suitcases, to fiddle and banjo workshops to songwriting workshops.

The first half of the day will feature folk and bluegrass artists and we will have available for purchase sandwiches from Serendipity of Marstons Mills, as well as snacks, water and sodas. Later in the day the musical styles will gradually ramp up culminating in a rousing set by R & B Blues Rocker Barrence Whitfield. Beer and Wine will be available for purchase after 3 pm.

In order to maintain a relaxed festival atmosphere, parking will be available off-site with free shuttle service to and from the remote lot. Parking is available onsite for VIP patrons. Other patrons can park in the Sons of Italy parking lot, located at 4966 Falmouth Road, in Cotuit. There will be a free and convenient shuttle service continually taking patrons to and from the Cotuit Center premises.

Attendees will be given wrist bands upon entry. For crowd control and safety reasons there will be no exit and re-entry allowed.

Admissions to CCftA grounds and workshops are free, only ticketed guests will be allowed into mainstage events, which have a limited capacity.

The Day:
Doors open at 10:00am
First band plays at 11:00 am
Off site parking at Sons of Italy, with free shuttle service
Workshops and Activities for kids and adults throughout the day
Food and drinks available for purchase throughout the day
Beer and wine available after 3:00pm
Indoor and outdoor activities
Instrument "petting zoo" for the kids
50/50 Raffle

VIP tickets include on-site parking, private green room meet and greet with the artists and priority seating
