Reagle Music Theatre Presents Liberace Tribute Today

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston (RMT) presents Las Vegas' number one star for over four decades with Martin Preston as Liberace! today, November 10, at 2 pm, at Reagle Music Theatre, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham.

Experience glitz, glamour, sparkling wit, and magnificent music as actor/showman Martin Preston recreates the magic of Liberace! in a one-performance-only spectacular, complete with crystal candelabra and rhinestone-studded grand piano, recapturing the flamboyant excitement of Las Vegas' greatest musical showman. Preston brings to life Liberace's music, comedy, and glamour through exception skill as a classically trained pianist and vibrant actor. Most recently, Preston was honored to perform at the premiere of the smash HBO Liberace movie, Behind the Candelabra, starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas. In addition to performing around the world in great concert halls, on cruise ships and at the famed Liberace Museum, Preston is an honored recipient of the Grand Prize in the Liberace Piano Competition.

Marvelous musical memories abound with Liberace favorites like The Beer Barrel Polka, Malaguena, The 12th Street Rag, and I'll Be Seeing You, all lushly orchestrated and performed from the original signature arrangements. Spectacular, outrageous, eye-popping costumes, each a duplicate of actual Liberace designs, are a highlight of the performance. "The show opening costume has a quarter of a million hand-sewn sequins, beads, and crystals, plus ten pounds of Swarovski rhinestones," says Preston. The elaborate outfits would not be complete without the Liberace's trademark furs, sparkling rings, dazzling jewelry, and an electrified shimmering feathered cape, leaving the audience in awe and wonder.

Preston is joined by song stylist William Garon, performing classic swing tunes, superb standards, and a grand tour of Broadway at its best highlighted by a breathtaking visit with The Phantom of the Opera. Garon has starred in many theatrical productions including My Fair Lady, Milk and Honey, and Oklahoma!, touring extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the far east.

Tickets for Liberace! are $35 to $50 for adults, $32 to $47 for seniors, $25 for youth ages 5 to 18. Student rush seats at 50% off are available one hour before curtain with a valid college ID.
