Last seen at the intimate Factory Theatre with a FREE production of LOOK BACK IN ANGER, Orfeo Group is planning something completely different this year. Thanks to the generosity of the Publick Theatre and the fact that they are taking a year off from their summer programming, Orfeo Group is taking over the 200 seat outdoor amphitheatre in Christian Herter Park to produce an irreverent, rollicking production of Complete Works."It's an exercise in community building," says Orfeo member Risher Reddick. The show will be presented outdoors under natural light with food, drink and a vibrant social atmosphere. In addition to the play, there will be a variety of extension programming ranging from Kids4Kids Shakespeare performances to dance groups and a lecture on The Music of the Spheres.
An outdoor barbeque performance as Shakespeare [might've] intended! We will have grills available for cooking - so feel free to come early and bring favorite grill-ables! You might even find yourself playing frisbee with the cast!
WARNING: This show is a non-stop roller-coaster ride through the Shakespearean canon. We ask that audience members keep all body parts inside the ride at all times, secure all loose articles, clothing, long hair, and remain seated in an upright position and hold on until the ride comes to an oh-so-Shakespearean full stop.
THE COMPLETE WORKS OF William Shakespeare (abridged) is directed by Steven Barkhimer and features Daniel Berger-Jones, Gabriel Kuttner, and Risher Reddick. On FREE performance nights, tickets will be allotted on a first come first served basis one hour before show time. To reserve tickets for other performances, go to the Orfeo Website at www.orfeogroup.org or call 617-747-4460.
