Little Theatre of Fall River Presents NUNSENSE II 7/15-25

By:

The Little Theatre of Fall River continues its annual Firebarn subscription season with the musical Nunsense II: The Second Coming. The show runs July 15-18 and 22-25. All performances will be at the aid-conditioned Firebarn, Little Theatre's home, at the corner of Prospect Street and Highland Avenue in Fall River. Citizens Union Savings Bank is the sponsor for this production. Thursday's curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 p.m.; and Sunday shows are at 7 p.m.

With book, lyrics and music by Dan Goggin, Nunsense II: The Second Coming takes place six weeks after the sisters have staged their first benefit. The sisters are back presenting a "thank-you" show for all the people who supported them in the past. But now, they're a bit slicker, having been "bitten by the theater bug."

Things get off to a rousing start as the sisters sing "Nunsense, the Magic Word," but before long, chaos erupts. Two Franciscans come to claim Sister Mary Amnesia (who has won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes) as one of their own. At the same time the nuns hear that a talent scout is in the audience to see them strut their stuff.
From the riotous bingo game run by Sister Amnesia to the hilarious duet, "What Would Elvis Do?," to the rousing finale, "There's Only One Way to End Your Prayers and That's to Say Amen!," this show will have you rolling in the aisles!

The cast includes Elizabeth Teixeira, Maryann Goulart, Christine Roy, Cheryl Field, and Erin Cote.
Ron Robinson directs Nunsense II, with Bev Robinson as assistant director and stage manager. Musical direction is by Dennis Robinson. The show is choreographed by Jeff Belanger and Janice MacDonald.

Donna Klamkin is the assistant stage manager and oversees props. The show has costumes by Cheryl Field. Ron Robinson also designed the set and lighting.

Single tickets are $16 for Nunsense II. Discounts are available for students, seniors, and children.
