Blue Spruce Theatre announced performances of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Services, Inc.  This production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, with text by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, is directed by Kevin Mark Kline.  The show will run from November 12 through November 22.  Previews begin Thursday, November 12, 2009, before the show's opening on Friday, November 13, 2009.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a rock musical that premiered in 1988, follows Hedwig, a transgendered singer from East Germany.  The musical tells of his life, his journey from Germany to America and the formation of his glam rock band The Angry Inch.  Through colorful rock songs and monologues, Hedwig tells his story of love, loss and creation.
