The book and lyrics of this adaption were written by Brian Crawley and the music isby Andrew Lippa.
Based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, A LITTLE PRINCESS is about Sara Crewe- a little girl who grew up in Africa, but is forced to go to a London boarding school when her father wants to continue his explorations after her mother's death. In order to make due and comfort herself, Sara allows her imagination to run wild and transform her world into a magical and mysterious place. However, the boarding school is run by the cynical and bitter Miss Minchin who isn't thrilled by Sara's immaginative games. When her father is reported to be dead, Miss Minchin seizes her opportunity to crush Sara's spirit by making her a servant at the boarding school. Sara must overcome the struggles and hardships presented to her with - as Miss Minchin states - the grace of a little princess.
