F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Presents JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Now thru 8/4

By:

The F.U.D.G.E. (FRIENDS UNITED DEVELOPING GENUINE ENTERTAINMENT) Theatre Company will present their 11th Anniversary Season's innovative interpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's blockbuster-smash-worldwide-hit JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT from tonight, July 27 through Saturday, August 4h at The Arsenal Center for the Arts (321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA).

Director/choreographer Joey DeMita has returned to the iconic musical's roots by employing the original 1969 arrangements and orchestrations.

His cast has been re-created and re-energized as feisty traveling Troupe of Players navigating the highways and the byways of rural America bringing with them some of the best music ever written for the English-speaking theatre and a story Biblical in scope and pyrotechnical in emotional impact.

The story of JOSEPH is one of the most endearing in the Book of Genesis. It contains, arguably, the most heart-wrenching description of the gift of forgiveness in all of literature.

Having been performed on some of the world's most important stages, the utter joy of the score emanates directly from the pure exhilaration that follows an act of true forgiveness.

Mr. DeMita's Troupe-Within-The-Show has more humble bookings. Not the West End or Broadway, they will perform in a list of towns whose stickers they will add to their "amazing traveling trunk". Their route-sheet has them headed for such towns as: Auburn, AL, Clear Creek, CO, Leon, FL, Henderson, IL, St. George, VT and Wartersmeet, MI; to name only a few.

The amazing traveling trunk literally spills riotous color as the Troupe adds its contents to their all-white costumes and its props to their all-white stage.

The intermission will also host its own dedicated "amazing bakery" that will sell such wares as puff pastries, chocolate éclairs, strawberry tarts, cucumber sandwiches, bread-and-butter-cakes, cinnamon toast, crumpets, English muffins, tea cakes, madeleines, macaroons, meringues, florentines, brownies, gingerbread men and gingerbread ladies.
