Charles Laquidara's DAZE IN THE LIFE, A MultiMedia Memoir, Celebrates 50 Years of Boston Rock Radio Radio personalities, friends, family and fans will gather at The Paradise Rock Club on Wednesday, March 14th for memories, music and mishegas with Charles Laquidara. As the evening's host, Charles will give a sneak preview of his soon-to-be-released multimedia memoir Daze In The Life. The evening will also include Q&A sessions with Charles and special guests, listening to music, prize giveaways and more.

Charles Laquidara is a nationally recognized New England Radio Hall Of Fame inductee and former Boston radio personality at WBCN and WZLX 100.7FM. He is famous for his Big Mattress radio show on WBCN, formerly 104.1FM, The Rock of Boston. Starting in 1968, Charles was a night-time DJ who quickly moved to and dominated morning drive radio in Boston. His antics and the characters in his crew entertained and built an enormous music community, resulting in a common love for music, comedy and occasional "water-cooler" conversations and controversy. An avid activist long before social media became popular, Charles had a knack for using the airwaves to engage and motivate listeners to support his many causes. He was also instrumental in popularizing WBCN by promoting his "Big Mattress Song of the Week" to highlight new songs and artists and by intermingling other WBCN DJs into his weekly Friday "Mishegas" segments. "Mishegas" was an audience-participant quiz show which provided tons of humor for his listeners and on-air staff alike. Losers were required to "do the funky chicken," and contestants always went away with sponsored prizes.

Daze In The Life is an independently produced multimedia memoir telling the story of Charles Laquidara. Co-producer Jeannie Smith explains, "The autobiography is not a book in the traditional sense - Daze uses audio, video and photos to give the viewer and listeners a slightly disjointed look into the life and mind of Charles Laquidara. Lots of people have recorded insightful stories for us and Big Mattress fans can hear old 'Mishegas' segments, original and classic comedy bits and general musings from inside the mind of Charles." The memoir will be released to the public for free viewing on April 1, 2018 at http://dazeinthelife.com.

This unique and innovative memoir was created and compiled by a select group of former producers and production engineers working with Laquidara to preserve highlights of his historic radio career and also to share a glimpse into his personal life outside of radio. Material was dug out of the renowned music archives of David Bieber, where reel-to-reel tapes were rediscovered, dusted off and digitized before being edited and compiled into stories. Charles tells tales of growing up in Milford, attending RISD, moving to Hollywood, working at WBCN, attending notable concerts and much more - all the way through to his retirement days on the beautiful island of Maui, HI. Charles says that people can also link to his internet radio station: http://charleslaquidararadio.com "where I spin my favorite eclectic tunes harkening back to the forties up to today- - spanning seven decades!"
