Berkshire Theatre Group Receives $29,000 Grant from Massachusetts Cultural Council Cultural Investment Portfolio
By: A.A. Cristi
Berkshire Theatre Group is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a $29,000 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Cultural Investment Portfolio. The Cultural Investment Portfolio (CIP) provides unrestricted general operating support grants and project support grants to nonprofit organizations that provide public programs in the arts, sciences, and humanities in Massachusetts.
Artistic Director/CEO Kate Maguire says, "We're deeply thankful for the Massachusetts Cultural Council's CIP grant to BTG. As ticket sales only cover half of our expenses, outside funding is vital to maintain our educational and transformative programs and productions. We are grateful that the MCC supports the valuable work we do." The CIP recognizes that organizations with an established record of programmatic service and administrative stability should have access to funds to support their organizational goals and objectives, and to maintain their ongoing programs, services, and facilities without special emphasis on new initiatives as justification for funding.
