A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Return to Hanover Theatre for 10th Anniversary Production Celebrate the holiday season with the 10th Anniversary Production of A Christmas Carol at The Hanover Theatre for Performing Arts, December 15 - 23.

Generously sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, this is New England's largest production of the Charles Dickens classic. Tickets are now on sale to members of The Hanover Theatre and go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, July 5 at 10 a.m.

President and CEO Troy Siebels updates his innovative adaptation each year to provide a new, yet familiar experience, and audiences can expect more magic than ever in 2017. The show includes an array of spectacles from special effects to spectacular flying stunts.

"New for this year's production, the theatre will partner with theatre district, maker space Technocopia," Siebels said. "We'll use cutting-edge technology to bring new magic to one of the show's characters."

The production also offers a unique sound with musical accompaniment by the theatre's Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, which has more than 2,400 pipes. New and returning cast members tell the story of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future. This brilliant musical, set with timeless music, colorful costumes and spectacular lighting and scenery, follows Scrooge as he discovers the true spirit of the holiday season.

Jeremy Lawrence returns as Scrooge for the sixth year in a row, having guest starred on TV's "The Blacklist" and "Shades of Blue," as well as worked with directors Brian De Palma, Rob Howard and Stephen Daldry. Lawrence is also known for his portrayal of playwright Tennessee Williams.

A sensory-friendly performance will be held December 17 at 11 a.m., and enhanced audio descriptive services and ASL interpretation will be available at the December 17, 4 p.m. performance. Audiences are also invited to stay after the December 20, 7 p.m. performance for a post-performance discussion with members of the cast. For information on student matinees, contact Kelly Rourke, education assistant, at krourke@thehanovertheatre.org or 508.471.1765.
