CCT-North Idaho, part of the CYT-North Idaho organization is bringing the Broadway American Classic Musical, Bye Bye Birdie to the S.A. Kroc Theater, July 19-28. CYT-North Idaho known for its after-school theater arts training program and quality family entertainment added their first Christian Community Theater or CCT show last year. They are thrilled to once again add a summer show to their season.

Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most captivating musical shows in the history of American Musical Theatre. It is a satire done with the fondest affection and tells the story of a rock and roll singer, an Elvis Presley type named Conrad Birdie, who is about to be inducted into the army. In order to capitalize on his induction, his agent arranges for him to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show and bid a typical American teen-age girl goodbye with an all-American kiss. Birdie's arrival in Sweet Apple, OH, causes people of all ages to swoon and that's when the fun really gets started! Also made into a well-known movie starring Ann Margaret and Dick Van Dyke, this four time Tony Award winner, is the "tops" in imagination and good old fashion fun!

Fifty-five adults and children make up the cast. Tickets are now on sale at the CYT-North Idaho website: cytnorthidaho.org or by call the Box Office at: (208) 277-5727. Dates and times are:

July 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.

and

July 20, 26, 27 and 28 at 3 p.m.

Come join CCT-North Idaho as they present a "blast from the past!" with Bye Bye Birdie
