HBO Star Lauren Weedman Brings WHAT WENT WRONG? to BCT Tonight

Boise Contemporary Theater welcomes the return of comedic actress and playwright Lauren Weedman next week to the BCT stage for a limited two-week engagement as part of the BCT 15|16 Season. Weedman, acclaimed star of the HBO show Looking and former correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart returns to BCT to perform her one-woman show WHAT WENT WRONG? for Boise audiences tonight, January 5, through January 16.
Weedman has performed numerous times at BCT, most notably in her one-woman shows No...You Shutup as part of the 08|09 Season, and Bust as part of the 06|07 Season. Weedman's return to the BCT stage follows on the heels of her highly acclaimed portrayal of Doris in Looking, for which she was a standout in the series' second season. Seattle newspaper The Stranger calls out one episode from that season as "not only the best episode of Looking by several hundred miles, but (Lauren's is) one of the best performances... seen on TV in years... Weedman's intricately brilliant performance... was the opposite of boring. It was thrilling." Weedman also had a recurring role on HBO's series Hung from 2009-2011, and enjoyed an off-Broadway run of her one-woman play Homecoming in 2001.
WHAT WENT WRONG? is part of the BCT 20th Season mainstage lineup, but has a limited run. The show previews next Tuesday-Thursday, January 5-7, and opens on Friday, January 8. It runs Tuesdays through Saturdays through January 16. All evening shows start at 8 pm with doors at 7, with two Saturday matinees on January 9th and 16th at 2 pm with doors at 1.
Because of the limited two-week run, some of the performances are already selling out, so theatergoers are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
