I wasn't sure this topic was right for the Broadway forum, though it is intertwined in a way.

There is an aria in the 1990 television mini-series Phantom of the Opera, starring Charles Dance and Teri Polo, which has haunted me for some 32 years.  Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's Phantom, a gorgeous musical that never appeared on Broadway, overshadowed by Lloyd-Webber's Phantom, is based on this mini-series.

My DVD of the mini-series is in storage, and in any case, I don't believe lists the aria in the credits; that's why I've searched for it on the Internet from time to time. It was my understanding all of the vocal music was from Faust, Norma, and La Traviata. This aria is in French and not from Faust. So it is original, unless someone knows it as an art song or an obscure French opera.

I remember writing the production company for the mini-series years ago but they would not share any information with me. I think they claimed copyright or something.

If anyone has information, I would love to hear from you.  I found the mini-series on YouTube, and this piece begins at about 1:04 hours.

Thank you.
