Anything Goes Rush This Weekend  Jul 6 2012, 10:31:12 AM
I called earlier this week and they were out of Hiptix for Saturday and Sunday, so I'm assuming rush would be hard to come by as well.
Encores! GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDS P2P Code?  Apr 30 2012, 08:59:15 AM
Anyone?
What makes a play a play and a musical a musical?  Apr 26 2012, 07:13:33 AM
I certainly can see where Peter and the Starcatcher is a play with music with only a couple of songs.

But End of the Rainbow has 8 full length songs which are in concert format as well as sung in regular moments during the show. Almost a third of the show is sung.

What's the difference between this and Jersey Boys and Fela? They also utilized the concert format in a biopic and are considered musicals.

What makes a play a play and a musical a musical?  Apr 25 2012, 09:11:15 PM
I'm certain this has been discussed on here before, but some of this Broadway season has puzzled me in particular. With shows like End of the Rainbow which has an entire cast album and is listed as both a musical and play at TKTS, it seems like the line is being further blurred with this production amongst others as of recent.

Does anyone have further thoughts on this topic?

one man, two guvnors rush  Apr 9 2012, 11:13:07 PM
You didn't ask, but if anyone cares I walked by around 10am Sunday, no one was there. Showed up an hour later and was third in line. Got a seat in the front row house left - perfect for this show.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph out of GHOST tonight  Mar 24 2012, 01:58:16 PM
Davine was in last night.

And I prefer Moya having now seen both.

GHOST - The Musical  Mar 21 2012, 09:09:02 AM
JustAGuy, I'm assuming you saw Da'vine Joy Randolf last night? Seeing it later this week and after seeing Moya Angela who for me made the whole show worthwhile, I'm curious to see how she compares.
Book of Mormon Understudies  Mar 12 2012, 09:06:50 AM
Can I start by saying how happy I am that they gave Ben Schrader a chance to go on? I've been a fan for a while and was scared it would not happen. Anyways, was there Saturday night and he was fantastic. A completely different interpretation than Jared or Josh. His mannerisms were spot on and I appreciate how he had to work harder for the physical comedy aspects. As far as changes, they said "listen to that weird white guy" in Man Up.
Billy Elliot Closing  Jan 9 2012, 08:21:44 AM
Elton John was not there.
Billy Elliot Closing  Jan 8 2012, 11:44:56 PM
Indeed he did.
Billy Elliot Closing  Jan 8 2012, 09:38:11 PM
They did the rotating Billy thing in London before, so that isn't entirely new.

Anyway, as a long time fan this exceeded all my expectations. The tag team style was hilarious in some moments, such as the end of Solidarity. All four Billys did the ending dance moment of Solidarity (which was stunning). After, when Dad finds Billy there, two of the four Billys scurried off quickly and the other two played rock paper scissors to continue with the scene. Brilliant.

And then th

H2$ Darren Criss rush  Jan 6 2012, 05:30:40 PM
I stopped by the box office today well after rush time to just inquire about their SRO policy. They told me that they sell SRO when they are sold out. For this weekend, that will be when the box office opens right after all the rush tickets are gone.
My thoughts on Other Desert Cities  Jan 2 2012, 10:54:26 AM
Agree completely with your thoughts. And did you stagedoor by chance, PlayItAgain? I think I was talking to you.
Seminar = the first great play of the season  Oct 28 2011, 08:42:26 AM
All signed, but the stagedoor was a mess. No barricades and only 1 person controlling the crowd. He took pictures with some people but I did not ask.
Seminar = the first great play of the season  Oct 27 2011, 10:47:37 PM
Just got back from the first preview and loved every second of it. My only issue is that Park and O'Connell were incredibly weak next to the other three. Their characters are significantly less interesting than the others, though. Sets were great. Many empty seats.

Double post.
Is Merle Louise Still In BILLY ELLIOT?  Oct 9 2011, 11:16:38 AM
She's always gone on when Shelley is out. To my knowledge, no one other than the two of them has ever played Grandma on Broadway.

I LOVE Louise as Grandma. Very lively and funny. Her accent is totally all over the place, but I much prefer her in the role.

I remember the couple in front of me eating McDonald's throughout the first act.
