This is what every show on Broadway should be. Engaging, electrifying, superbly written, directed and every actor on top of their game (even on the 2nd show of a 2 show sunday on a holiday weekend) there not a weak link in the bunch (Stockard Channing, Stacy Keach, Rachel Griffith and Thomas Sadoski are fantastic but Judith Light just destroys the stage as drunken Aunt Silda give her the tony now). Sat in the first row, I could feel the energy flowing off the stage, and the set was so cool :) so happy I choose this for my first show of the year (as a bonus ended up getting a page from the Manuscript) also everyone was very nice at the door (except Keach who for some reason apparently always leaves out the front door...)
Everyone but Stacy Keach comes out the stage door. As always, Judith Light is the kindest, most beautiful person that has ever walked the face of this earth. I swear to God, if you tell me there's someone nicer than her on this planet I won't believe you.
I absolutely loved this play!!! Everyone in the cast are spectacular(especially Judith Light)! Judith Light is definitely the sweetest person! I met her after the show and after the Gypsy of the Year and she is truly a class act!
I liked this play, but definitely feel it is overhyped. I've seen better shows. It seemed like a low rent version of A:OC.
The acting is stellar and impeccable, but the writing felt like a Lifetime movie. The big "reveal" was, IMO, lacking and implausible.
Those characters were so far removed from reality. The play didn't seem real or authentic in the ways that draw me into a drama.
I know I'm in the minority.
