i think bootlegs and youtube clips sometimes help. I would have never bought another Wicked ticket had I not heard Julia Murney's voice on youtube and instantly turned into a devoted fan! Oh, they totally help. Over at her fan forum, admins allow people to openly talk about boots they've seen of Julia. She's made quite a few fans that way. In fact, some of her most devoted fans have never even see her live. It's amazing.

i ran into julia murney in a hotel in atlanta after she was out with bronchitis...she told me to see if i could find a bootleg because she knew they were out there... and she supported them... so i guess not... btw i love her, she is my hero Didn't Julia asked the Chatterbox audience for a bootleg when she was on there for "Chess"? Someone handed her one too...it was hilarious. Anyway, I agree with Rathnait62.

Ev'ry Duke, and Earl, and Peer is Here... Dec 10

Yeah, KC doesn't play that. The only time I've gotten a deal when going to see a performance there is when it's on the Millennium Stage. If I see anything I will certainly bump this thread for you. But when went to the site, I saw some tickets for $36.

Ok, I will openly admit I was depressed that it wasn't Julia (I don't give two shakes about 'Wicked'). Then I got over it... Not the best UB Episode, but it was cute. The kids trading the playbills was the best part of the show, IMO.

Theatre tickets are too expensive for me to be texting during the show. Even if I got them cheap, texting would cause me to be two things that I hate: Pressed and Rude!

I thought about it, but I've been leaning towards plays and vocal performances lately.

re: The role of the Conductor Aug 28

But I have observed that at times the conductor is cueing the orchestra to begin based on the actions or preparedness of the actor, and at times he is cueing (or reminding) the actor to start singing at a certain point within the music. That's what I thought too. It was very noticeable when I saw "Wicked". The conductor was the youngest I've ever seen at a Broadway show, so I had fun watching him as well as the show. I'm glad I did because it caused me to start thinking more abou

I listened to an interview with Gregory Maguire and he talked a bit about how "Wicked" was supposed to be a movie first, but didn't go through. He speculated that they didn't want to do the show because there weren't any males with a long term presence. It's true that Frex and Boq are really only seen at the beginning (or middle in Boq's case) and then briefly at the end, and Fiyero is conked on the head before we can really get to know him well. Even though Holzman created this weird l

I'm glad for them. Stephanie said it would be nice to work with her hubbie for a little while. At least now Bastian doesn't have to wait around for her to finish signing autographs. He gets a fair amount of giggling girls at the Stage Door I hear. I'm looking forward to funny stories about that.

re: ALEXANDRA SOCHA as Wendla 8/25 Mat. Aug 27

I thought it was supposed to be vague to start with. It's certainly rape in the original play. But in the current version, the fact that she puts his hand on her chest and kind of cradles it makes it confusing. Unfortunately, I've been in a similar situation, and trust me - I wasn't putting his hands anywhere on me. I was fighting like hell to get them OFF!! (I succeeded too! Yay Me!)

"My question is that hasn't Lea been working on this piece for a number of years (I think I heard since she was 13!). If so, did the sexual overtones/situations ever come up before? My roommate saw one of the first preveiews of SA and swears that Lea did not expose her breasts at that time...so wonder if she turned 17 after the run started...and they added it in." I was wondering that myself. When the cast was on Rosie, Lea herself said she's been working on this show s
