Did you ever wonder what happened after "Tomorrow"? The WHOLE BACKSTAGE THEATRE is proud to announce auditions for its summer musical, Annie Warbucks, March 27th and 28th at the Whole Backstage Theatre in Guntersville , Alabama .

Picking up right where our record-breaking holiday production of Annie left off, "Oliver ‘Daddy' Warbucks" (Ken Patterson), a hard-nosed billionaire with a heart of gold, receives the troubling news that law requires he marry within sixty days, or his newly adopted daughter "Annie" (Laura Kate Smith) will be returned to the orphanage. It's then a race against time as Warbucks and his staff feverishly searches for a bride, all while a stubborn Child Welfare Commissioner has her hand on the dial.

Written in 1993 by the team of Meehan, Strouse, and Charnin, Annie Warbucks, will be sure to delight audiences young and old with its memorable characters and show-stopping, toe-tapping tunes. It has become a well-received sequel to its predecessor, being a favorite of community theatres nationwide.

Directed by Diane Duboise and Christopher Carter, with assistance by Melissa Trebus, auditions will be held Friday March 27th at 6:30p.m and Saturday March 28th at 10:00 a.m. Sunday March 29th is reserved for callbacks if needed.

Roles open for auditions are as follows: Alvin Paterson, a poor Tennessee sharecropper; C.J. Paterson, Alvin 's daughter; Ella Paterson, Alvin 's wife; Harriett Doyle, a middle-aged bureaucrat; Mr. Kelly, Mrs. Doyle's scheming daughter; Simon Whitehead, Warbuck's Attorney; Peaches, a sassy black orphan; and chorus roles.

Auditions will be held at the Whole Backstage Theatre 1120 Rayburn Avenue , in Guntersville. Audition materials will be available at your local libraries no later than March 5, 2009. Performances are scheduled for July 10th-19th.
